Vedic Foot Treatment

Foot massage is traditionally performed in India as a method to promote sound sleep at night, and culturally touching the feet shows deep respect for an esteemed parent or visitor!

Foot massage holds a sacred place in both Ayurveda and Indian culture. In the major Ayurvedic text Astanga Hridaya, Vagbhata describes the effect of massage over the soles of the feet. "Four important nerves terminate in the soles of the feet, which are connected with the head. Heat, friction & excessive pressure damage these nerves and have a negative impact on Eyesight."

Ayurveda maintains that  regular massage will rejuvenate these nerves & a person will never suffer from eye diseases.

 This treatment includes 5 steps:

  • Gently filing dry skin areas on the feet

  • Soaking the feet in a deep, warm, and aromatic Himalayan salts foot bath

  • Touching the Marma points (Ayurvedic vital energy points) and their associated reflexology areas

  • Kansa Vatki - rubbing the feet with a golden-color three-metal bowl

  • Applying Ubtan Cleanser - dusting and gently exfoliating the feet with a blend of flour, herbs, and rose petals!
